Bethel Women’s Tennis Secures National Tournament Bid; Set to Face #9 Cumberlands in Alabama

NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – The postseason honors continue to roll in for the Bethel College Threshers. Following a stellar campaign and a hard-fought run to the KCAC Tournament Championship match, the Bethel women's tennis team has officially secured a bid to the NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship in Mobile, Alabama.

The Threshers, appearing in the national field after finishing as the conference tournament runners-up, are set to face a formidable opponent in the opening round: the #9 seed University of the Cumberlands Patriots.

National Stage Set

The Threshers will take the courts at the Mobile Tennis Center on May 12 at 1:00 PM CST. Entering the tournament with a 18-3 overall record and a near-perfect conference slate, Bethel looks to carry their regular-season momentum into the national spotlight.

A Historic Season

Bethel's path to the national tournament was paved by a dominant spring, including a 6-1 victory over powerhouse McPherson and a deep run in the KCAC tournament. Led by a veteran core including Daniela Casique, Sara Ladino, and Ximena Raya the Threshers have proven they can compete with the region's elite. Their selection to the 24-team national field marks a significant milestone for the program as they travel to represent the KCAC on the coast.

The NAIA National Championship is a single-elimination event held at the 60-court Mobile Tennis Center. The winner of the Bethel-Cumberlands match will move on to the second round on May 13 to face the tournament's #8 seed.
