NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The College Sports Communicators recognized two members of the Bethel College women's tennis program for their excellence both on the court and in the classroom, as
Grace Dawes and
Daniela Casique earned CSC Academic All-District honors following outstanding 2025-26 campaigns.
The award recognizes student-athletes who have achieved success academically while also competing at a high level in their sport. Dawes and Casique played key roles in helping the Threshers compile a 18-4 overall record and secure the No. 2 seed in the KCAC postseason tournament.
Casique, a junior from Valencia, Venezuela, competed primarily at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles throughout the season. She consistently delivered in top-flight matchups, including a straight-set victory over Kansas Wesleyan's Hayden Bellamy at No. 1 singles while also teaming with Sara Ladino for a dominant doubles win. Casique also helped the Threshers earn a key conference victory over McPherson by capturing wins in both singles and doubles play.
Dawes continued to be a steady contributor in both singles and doubles competition. Competing in the middle of Bethel's lineup, she earned multiple conference victories during the year, including impressive wins against Friends and Kansas Wesleyan. Dawes also paired with
Kate Rowland to provide consistency in doubles play, helping the Threshers secure several early-match doubles points throughout the season.
The CSC Academic All-District honor highlights the dedication both student-athletes have shown in balancing academic achievement with the demands of collegiate athletics. Their recognition adds to an already memorable season for Bethel women's tennis, which continued to establish itself as one of the top programs in the conference. The pair will now move on to the CSC Academic All-American voting announced on June 2
