NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College softball team earned the split with a game two victory thanks to two homeruns from the bat of
Marissa Harrison.
GAME ONE, L 14-2
The Threshers struck first in the bottom of the second inning when
Anna Northcutt singled to center field and the Spire outfielder made an error on the play allowing
Claire Broxterman to score. Bethel added to their lead in the bottom half of the fourth when
Anniston Oylear doubled to left field scoring
Madelaine Debs. With BC leading 2-0, the final three innings were all Spires as they put up four runs in the fifth and sixth innings before scoring six in the seventh to take game one.

GAME TWO, W 5-2
After back-to-back singles to start the second inning from
Sadie Jensen and Emily DeMartino, Harrison put the Threshers on the board first in game two with a three-run homerun to left field. After the Spires got a run back in the fourth, Harrison hit her second homerun of the contest in the bottom half with a solo shot to left field. Bethel tacked on another run in the fifth with an
Ashleigh Bodine RBI groundout that brought in
Ella Caudill. Saint Mary scored one more run in the seventh on a wild pitch, but would not get the contest any closer.
