NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The Bethel College flag football team dropped a 28-0 decision to Cottey College on Saturday afternoon at Thresher Stadium. The visiting Comets scored in three of four quarters while holding the Threshers scoreless.
How It Happened
Cottey struck first late in the first quarter. They added another before the end of the half on a pick 6. Cotty added two more touchdowns in the third to extend their lead. Bethel's defense kept fighting, forcing two interceptions — one each from Xavia Mann and Kyndall Longman — but offensive consistency was the issue.
Amber Clawson recorded a sack and led Bethel with six tackles, while M. Johnson added four stops and two pass breakups.
Offensively, Longman and Nevaeh Gonzales combined for 74 passing yards, with Xavia Mann catching three passes for 35 yards to lead the receivers.
