NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Athletic Department has announced additions to Head Coach
A.B. Stokes' Football coaching staff.
Jason Grider and
Reggie Langford both join the Threshers after spending this past season in the high school football ranks in Kansas.

Coach Stokes expressed his excitement about these new additions to the stafft. "Coach Grider is a veteran coach and great leader," Stokes said. "I've already begun to lean on his knowledge and expertise when it comes to running a program."

Jason Grider has been named the Threshers Associate Head Coach. He brings 23 years of high school coaching experience with him to Bethel, 21 of those years coming as a head coach. Grider spent the previous 8 seasons at Halstead High School in Halstead, Kan.

Tony Hoops and Coach Stokes for bringing me on board," Grider said. "I'm very excited for the opportunity and ready to get started!"

During his time at the helm in Halstead, Grider led the Dragons to two sub-state finals, two league titles, six district titles in a row and seven straight playoff appearances.

Grider was named the 2014 3A Sports in Kansas Coach of the Year. He was a Shrine Bowl Assistant Coach in 2016.Â

While at Halstead, Grider coached Powerlifting and Track in addition to his football coaching duties. He led the Dragons to a 2021 3A State Championship in Men's Powerlifting, a State Runner-up in 3A Men's Powerlifting in 2019 and State Runner-ups in 3A Women's Powerlifting in 2016 and 2017.

Grider graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene in 1999 where he was an All-American defensive end.

Reggie Langford has been named the Threshers new Offensive Coordinator. He comes to Bethel College after serving as the head football coach for Nickerson High School last season. Since 2018, Langford has been involved with Nickerson High School football.

"Coach Langford is a great offensive mind and an even better man," said Stokes. "I've been wanting to coach with him for a long time and I'm glad it's finally happening."

Prior to his time with the Panthers, Langford served as an assistant football coach at Sterling College where he coached quarterbacks.

"Coach Stokes is someone that I have wanted to coach with for a while now because of the great man that he is," Langford said. "I am joining a staff full of good coaches and even better men, I am excited for the opportunity."

Langford spent four seasons playing football overseas in the Czech Republic. During his time in the Czech Republic Langford played on the Pardubice Stallions and the Vsyocina Gladiators.

While he was a player, Langford also served as an assistant coach in the Czech Republic where he called plays, organized and oversaw practices and implemented his own offensive playbook. Langford coached the number one offense in the league during the 2017 and 2019 seasons.

Langford is a 2015 graduate of Sterling College where he played football. In 2017 he earned a Masters of Science in Health, Human Performance and Recreation from Pittsburg State University and is currently working on his Masters of Education from Fort Hays State.
