NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Tennis team took on the Doane Tigers one day after canceling their match against Texarkana due to weather. The Threshers beat the Tigers 6-1, winning the doubles point.
Daniela Herrera and
Fatima Nemi picked up the 6-2 victory at the #1 spot. In #2 doubles,
Halle Krehbiel and
Grace Dawes fell in a tiebreaker 7-6(8-6).
Patricia Huerta and
Nalea Payton picked up the doubles point for Bethel with a commanding 6-1 victory.
Herrera won at #1 singles in two games 7-6(7-4), 6-4. Nemi won in the #2 spot 7-6(7-5), 6-0. Krehbiel played at #3 singles where she won 6-4, 6-3. Dawes was at #4 where she fell in three games 4-6, 6-3, 10-6. Payton won in three sets picking up the 6-7(7-9), 6-2, 10-7 victory.
Jenna Mahoney won in the #6 spot 6-3, 6-0.
The Threshers will be back on the court on Thursday, March 16th as they travel to take on the Sterling Warriors at 11 AM to open KCAC play.
