LINDSBORG, Kan. - The Bethel College women's tennis team looked to keep their winning ways after receiving votes in a NAIA National Rankings poll for the first time since 2015. The Threshers pulled off a clean sweep of the Bethany Swedes 7-0.
Bethel started off winning all three doubles points, two of the three very handily.
Daniela Herrera and
Fatima Nemi won their match 6-0.
Halle Krehbiel and
Grace Dawes picked up the 6-4 victory at #2.
Nalea Payton and
Patricia Huerta won their match 6-1.
Herrera won at #1 singles 6-0, 6-4 to put Bethel up 2-0. Nemi picked up a win in straight sets as well 6-2, 6-4. Krehbiel won at #3 singles 6-1, 6-4. Payton won her match at #4 singles 6-1, 6-3.
Jenna Mahoney, playing #5 singles, won her match with a pair of 6-1 victories. Huerta capped off the sweep with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
The Threshers will be back in action on Sunday, April 16th as they take on the Ottawa Braves at Ward Tennis Center with the doubles point at 3:30.
