STERLING, Kan. - The Bethel College women's tennis team beat Sterling College 4-3 to end KCAC Conference play.
The Threshers picked up the doubles point with a victory at #1 and #3 doubles positions.
Daniela Herrera and
Fatima Nemi won their match #1 doubles 6-1.
Nalea Payton and
Patricia Huerta picked up a 6-0 victory at #3 doubles. While
Halle Krehbiel and
Grace Dawes dropped their match at #2 by a score of 6-3.
Herrera picked up a 6-2, 6-3 victory at the #1 singles position. Nemi fell at #2 7-5, 6-4. Krehbiel dropped her match in three sets after winning the first 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. Payton lost a pair of 6-3 sets to fall at #5. With the Threshers needing a victory to stay alive,
Jenna Mahoney won at #5 singels in two sets 6-1, 6-1. Huerta played the decisive match in which she won 6-0, 6-1 giving Bethel the 4-3 victory.
The Threshers are now done with the regular season and will wait to see how the standings unfold for the final week to see where they will end up for the KCAC Tournament.
