NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College women's tennis team hosted both Ottawa Arizona and Midland on Friday at Ward Tennis Center. The Threshers dropped both contests by a score of 4-3.
The Threshers won the doubles point over the Spirit as
Daniela Casique and
Halle Krehbiel won 6-3 at #1 and
Patricia Huerta and
Nalea Payton won 6-4 at #2.
Grace Dawes and
Charis Yager won by default at #3 giving BC the clean sweep in doubles.
Casique fell at #1 singles 6-3, 6-1. Dawes played at #2 where she fell with a pair of 6-2 sets. Krehbiel in the #3 position fell in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Payton fell in her match at #4 6-0, 6-1.
Jenna Mahoney picked up the first singles win for the Threshers at #5 with two straight 6-0 sets. Huerta won by default at #6 giving BC their second singles win.
Bethel dropped all of their doubles matches against Midland as they fell 6-4 at #1, 6-1 at #2 and 6-2 at #3.
Casique picked up the victory at #1 singles with a pair of 6-0 victories. Dawes fell at #2 6-1, 6-0. Krehbiel fell 6-1, 6-1. Payton fell 6-1, 6-0 at #4. Mahoney once again won at #5 6-1, 6-1. Huerta earned a two set victory at #6 6-1, 6-1.
The Threshers will be back in action on Friday, March 8th at 4:00 PM as they host Texas A&M Texarkana.
