Women's Tennis Shines at KCAC Individual Championships

LINDSBORG, Kan.— The Bethel College Women's Tennis team delivered an impressive performance at the KCAC Individual Championships over the weekend, with several players earning top finishes in their respective divisions.

Leading the way for the Threshers was Daniela Herrera in #1 Singles. After a hard-fought battle, Herrera claimed the championship with a 5-7, 6-4 victory, sealing the win with a 10-5 score in the super tiebreak.

Daniela Casique also captured first place in the #2 Singles division. She recovered from a tough first set loss to win the championship match, 2-6, 6-4, before closing out with a 10-5 super tiebreak win.

In #3 Singles, Grace Dawes secured a third-place finish, winning her final match 8-6 in a close contest. Patricia Huerta, competing in #4 Singles, also took third in her division, defeating Evangel with a decisive 8-3 victory.

Kate Rowland had a strong run in the #6 Singles division, dominating her opponents all the way to the championship match before falling to McPherson, finishing as the runner-up.

In doubles play, the pairing of Daniela Herrera and Daniela Casique proved unstoppable in the #1 Doubles division. They earned their championship title with a 8-6 victory over McPherson.

In #2 Doubles, Patricia Huerta and Grace Dawes fought hard to claim third place, overcoming Kansas Wesleyan with an 8-6 win.

Coach Gabe Johnson expressed his pride in the team's performance, highlighting their resilience and strong play across all divisions. With this tournament success, the Bethel Women's Tennis team looks poised for an exciting season ahead.
