NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — Bethel College Women's Tennis secured a strong 5-2 victory over Concordia on Saturday, continuing its early-season momentum at a current 4-0 record.
The Threshers took control early in doubles play. Daniela Casique and Sara Ladino rolled to a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Grace Dawes and Kate Rowland matched that score at No. 3 to give Bethel the doubles advantage.
In singles action, Bethel delivered four wins to seal the team result. Daniela Casique was dominant at No. 1 singles, earning a straight-set 6-0, 6-4 victory. The win carried added weight as Casique defeated the No. 31 ranked ITA singles player in the November ITA Rankings.
Sara Ladino (No. 2) and Ximena Raya (No. 3) each posted convincing 6-2, 6-2 win and 6-2 6-4 wins respectively, and Jireh Gonzalez closed out the afternoon with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 6.
With the 5-2 win, Bethel continues to build confidence heading into the weekend. The Threshers return home Saturday at 3:00 PM to face Avila for their conference opener.
