Box Score NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - The Bethel College Women's Tennis team took on the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes in their second to last home KCAC Conference match. The Threshers won the doubles point and took three of the six singles points to edge out the Coyotes for a 4-3 victory with an abnormal roster for the contest.
Halle Krehbiel and
Nalea Payton played in the #1 singles spot and dropped their contest 6-4.
Jenna Mahoney and
Karik Elliott played up a spot in doubles as well as they picked up the 6-4 set victory.
Fatima Nemi and
Julia Sherman teamed up to play in the #3 position as they took the 6-3 victory giving Bethel the doubles point.Â
Krehbiel, moved up to the #1 position where she dropped her contest 6-4, 6-1. Nemi picked up the win at #2 singles 6-4, 6-2. Payton won in the #3 position in three sets after she won the first set 6-2, dropped the second set 6-2 and held on for the 6-3 set three victory. Mahoney clinched the match for the Threshers as she won a three set thriller at #4 after dropping the first set. Her scores were 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Sherman fell in the #5 position with a pair of 6-3 set losses. Elliott played in the #6 position and fell in her contest 6-4, 6-0.
The Threshers won't be back in action until after the holiday break as Oklahoma Wesleyan did not field a women's team this season. Their next contest comes on Wednesday, April 20th as they host the Fort Hays State Tigers.
