The 1981 Bethel College volleyball team is considered one of the best teams to ever compete for the Threshers.  They won the 1981 KCAC Championship with a 16-0 conference record.  The team placed first at the Pittsburg State Invitational Tournament and Tulsa Invitational Tournament during the regular season.  In postseason play the Threshers won the NAIA District 10 Tournament, the NAIA Bi-District Tournament, and placed third at the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament held in West Athens, West Virginia.  They finished the season with a 52-5 overall record, and were ranked fifth in the final overall (NCAA Div. II, AIAW Div. II, and NAIA) Division II volleyball poll.  Diane Sanders Flickner was the head coach, and Lisa Habegger Loganbill assisted her.  Beth Ediger and Carolyn Coon served as student team managers.  The members of the 1981 volleyball team were: Nancy Schrag, Brenda Headings, Lisa Loeffler, Lori DeGarmo, Cindy Napper, Gwen Harms, Robin Craig, Brenda Weber, LuAnn Zook, and Deb Stauffer, Judy Unruh, Cindy Goering, Sherri Foltz.  The induction of the 1981 volleyball team into the Hall of Fame coincides with Bethel's "Celebrate! BC Women in Sport" observance of the 25th Anniversary of KCAC women's sports.
