Thresher Athletics Hall of Fame
Currently the Bethel Senior Women's Leader, Stacy (Koontz) Middleton has a history of being an outstanding athlete with the Women's Track program back when she was a student at Bethel. Middleton is a two-time NAIA All-American javelin thrower. She managed to qualify for the NAIA National Championships in three straight years, from 1993-1995, and finished 5th, 3rd, and 7th during those meets, respectively (the cutoff for "All-American" in 1995 was 6th). She was the elite thrower among the KCAC competitors during her time as a Thresher, having won the KCAC Individual Championship in 1993 and 1994. Her throw of 140'0" in the 1993 meet was the KCAC Championship record up until 2015. She also set and broke the Bethel women's javelin record multiple times, with her furthest throw of 143'5" in 1995 standing as the school record today. Middleton was also a competitor on the volleyball court, and was part of the 1992 & 1994 KCAC championship squads at Bethel.
