Thresher Athletics Hall of Fame
Lanoy played varsity basketball for Bethel College from 1948 to 1952 earning four athletic awards. He was named Second Team All-KCAC in 1949 as a freshman, and earned First Team All-KCAC honors in 1950, 1951, and 1952. Lanoy played in 78 games for Bethel and finished his career with 1,240 points a new school record at the time. He averaged 15.89 points per game for his career and was the team's leading scorer for three years. He averaged 17.23 points per game on his way to scoring 310 points in 1950-51. The Graymaroons compiled a 36-42 overall record during Lanoy's playing career, including a 17-31 record in conference play. He was also a member of the 1948 and 1949 Bethel College football teams. Lanoy graduated from Bethel in 1952 with a degree in Education with minors in Chemistry and Physical Education. He is also a member of the Newton High School Hall of Fame.
